Good News (Except to Slow Living)

Though it likely won’t seem like good news to anyone but us, we are thrilled! It’s as though our summer village has entered civilization. Our phone internet works, and using it as a hot spot, I’m even able to do this post on my computer!!

When we last came down at Easter, they were installing fiber throughout the town, and I guess it’s really made a difference. So it’s good news, because otherwise we were always pretty much cut off from everyone.

We’ve usually been barely able to get even a minimal connection. And much of the time no phone line either. Now internet has reached even this remote village! Although I’m still debating on whether or not to be truly thrilled over it.

We’ve always enjoyed using this time as a bit of spiritual retreat. Perhaps we’ll just have to work harder at seeing that it remains so. And seeing that our phones have limited data, I really don’t think it will be too difficult to maintain this as a slow and peaceful retreat time. But I must admit, I do like the idea of staying in better contact with you all! 🙂

I hope you have a happy season too. And that your path will also be sprinkled with good news along the way!

    1. Thanks Dayle, we are too! Although it does seem strange. We will strive to maintain this a still and peaceful time. Please pray that we may also bring peace and joy to the churches we visit here, which are sadly small and dwindling. They need encouragement. Enjoy your summer!

      1. I’ll be praying, my friend. God uses voices where He puts them, and even when the situation seems dire, He will accomplish what He intends in the lives of those He chooses. Praying for your perseverance and strength even in the face of disappointment.

    1. Thanks so much, Nancy! We really do hope it will be – in between visits to churches in the area. Please pray that we may be a blessing and encouragement to these small and dwindling congregations. Have a nice summer!
